Tribute to our Soldiers on Veteran's Day

Hi everyone,

On Veteran's Day, we take the opportunity to honor those who have served and are actively serving our country. We so often forget to thank those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that all of us can continue to live freely. Considering many of the oppressive regimes overseas against which our brave servicemen have fought, it is easy to forget how much of a luxury it really is to be able to even argue about healthcare, global warming, or any other issue that matters to us.

It means so much to an a soldier in harm's way to receive a letter from an American civilian, telling them that we here at home are behind them 100%. These brave men and women are our country's best. Let them know!!

I strongly encourage you to consider sending a letter to a serviceman or woman. Please take just a few minutes!! Someone will really appreciate it.

Look at the list at the far left of your screen. There are a list of officers in active duty. When you click on one's name, you can request their current address. Remember, the officer you are sending to is not the person to which you should address your letter, because the officer will hand the letters sent to him/her to the soldiers under his/her command. Just address it "Dear Soldier."

You can request the address by email. They ask that you be 18 or older to participate (as you need to give your information to get the address), so this can be a great thing to do with the family.

Follow the recommendations found in the "How to Send" tab at the top as well when writing your letter.

The Three War President

Looks like Obama is gonna have another war on his hands based on what is going on down at the border. We'll see how he does dealing with the great thugs of society and the massive refugee population which will most likely ensue. Hmmm, I wonder if they'll be eligible for his free health care plan and tax credits as well.

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico

The U.S. Defense Department thinks Mexico's two most deadly drug cartels together have fielded more than 100,000 foot soldiers - an army that rivals Mexico's armed forces and threatens to turn the country into a narco-state.

"It's moving to crisis proportions," a senior U.S. defense official told The Washington Times. The official, who spoke on the condition that he not be named because of the sensitive nature of his work, said the cartels' "foot soldiers" are on a par with Mexico's army of about 130,000.

Two True Patriots

The attached message is from the son of a Doctor in Sanford NC. He has a clear message that shows both his patriotism as a war vet and his frustration with what is going on in this country. Pass this along, so people will get the flavor. Attached to the message is a story about another true patriot, Denzel Washington which shows his heart is with the vet and the country.


"When someone takes a stand for a selfless act you never hear about it. I mean these guys paid for our freedoms for God sakes. Instead we are hearing about a welfare mother having another 18 kids whom we will end up paying for and supporting. Where are the ethics and where are the real decision makers when we see this obvious need? We had one millionaire step up, Where are the others? Supporters that are selfish, liberal, socialistic, irrational and Irresponsible please step down.

You know the ones who will never be responsible will get away with this, but those who are responsible will never be able to forget it and will keep having to support the indiscrimatable mistakes that our leader is making. This isn't Europe (but I am glad he can give a good speech America). Why would Americans vote for someone who's views might work on another continent but never have on ours?

I'm tired... I am tired of seeing my friends leave. I am tired of trying to motivate them when I know that there is no truth. I see no solution. We can't just leave...

Transparency, seriously, the only reason he is able to claim that is because he has a website. HTML... You can put anything on a site. Just ask the recent perverts who were able to manipulate an entire school who fooled school children to expose themselves worldwide. This I do not want to confront, but people, is this transparency BC I believe I am getting lied to worse than these children.

Disgusting and appalling, Leadership use to mean responsibility and not selfishness. When did a millionaire start looking more glorious than a war hero? I will tell you when.... Now....

The only transparency I see is that Govt will continue to manipulate Americans until it hurts us so much that ALL Americans finally pay attention and quit being lazy about their only responsibilities as an American. That is to stay knowledgeable about the facts. Good luck when the media only wants you to hear one side, and most who only watch and do not read account for the majority of voters. Which in short means, don't vote for someone just because you like the WAY they talk.

I could go on and on but we have already made our mistakes. The bad thing is that the ones who tried to deter us away from these mistakes are not even heard during these times. Like a former General of the US Army... (Petraeus)...

Don't know whether you heard about this but Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio, Texas (BAMC) the other day. This is where soldiers who have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the United States, especially burn victims. There are some
buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build. He took his check book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear this story and want to get the word out to the American
public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.

The question is - why do: Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Tom Cruise and other Hollywood fluff make front page news with their ridiculous antics and Denzel Washington's Patriotism doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San Antonio?

Kudos and a big heartfelt thanks to both of these Patriots. True Americans and friends to all in uniform!

How Many American Lives?

"The average age of the military man is 19 years.

He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who,
under normal circumstances is considered by
society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country.

He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father's, but he has never collected unemployment either.

He's a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop
or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk. He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can
apply first aid like a professional.


He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity.

He is self-sufficient. He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you're thirsty, he'll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He'll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons
and weapons like they were his hands. He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all. He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to 'square-away ' those around him who haven't bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is the American Fighting Man that has
kept this country free for over 200 years.


How will Obama's actions affect the fates of these young men and women, who stay ever-vigilant to protect us? Will more enemy combatants ultimately end up back on the battlefield, getting their second chance to kill our men and women in uniform? Will Obama do as much to protect them as he has to protect the terrorists who would, if given the chance, think nothing of taking our lives, and the lives of our children? Does his notion of balancing our ideals and our safety come with a price tag of more American lives lost? Most Americans, and more importantly, those on the battlefield who have faced the enemy, would say yes.

So what will be his excuse when the terrorist he coddles kills a mother's son in battle, or murders scores of civilians on our soil? Will he still maintain his self-righteousness? My guess is that if he has regrets, it will be for the destruction of his own legacy, and not for Americans whose lives have been snuffed out.
