What, Me, A Socialist?

Recall during the campaign when Barack Obama derided the McCain team for calling his policies socialist? BO, in mock indignation, stated "They are calling me "Social-is-tic". Of course, the MSM jumped on the band wagon, ensuring Americans that the most liberal member of the Senate and hanger-outer with socialists was indeed not harboring such an agenda.

Apparently, other world leaders didn't get that memo. In a paper to be published next week, Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, states the following:

From the Sydney Morning Herald, January 31, 2009

"KEVIN RUDD has denounced the unfettered capitalism of the past three decades and called for a new era of "social capitalism" in which government intervention and regulation feature heavily.

Mr Rudd writes in The Monthly that just as Franklin Roosevelt rebuilt US capitalism after the Great Depression, modern-day "social democrats" such as himself and the US President, Barack Obama, must do the same again. But he argues that "minor tweakings of long-established orthodoxies will not do" and advocates a new system that reaches beyond the 70-year-old interventionist principles of John Maynard Keynes."


So whilst alert and informed Americans are smeared for uttering the "S" word, it's no news to anyone outside the borders that BO is as "social-is-tic" as we always knew him to be. How long can he keep the blinders on the remainder of Americans who still cling to the notion that this man is a centrist? Barack Obama will stay to the center as long as more conservative voices FORCE him to stay there. It's time for all Americans to wake up and realize that we have not elected a 40 yard line guy.

Climate Czarina's Socialist Ties

There's no longer a need to intimate that Obama harbors a far left socialist agenda. The Washington Times reports today on Obama's pick for Global Warming Czar:

"Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.
Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.
The group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, the organization's action arm on climate change, says the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr. Obama, who has said action on climate change would be a priority in his administration, tapped Mrs. Browner last month to fill a new position as White House coordinator of climate and energy policies. The appointment does not need Senate confirmation.
Mr. Obama's transition team said Mrs. Browner's membership in the organization is not a problem and that it brings experience in U.S. policymaking to her new role.
Mrs. Browner ran the Environmental Protection Agency under President Clinton. Until she was tapped for the Obama administration, she was on the board of directors for the National Audubon Society, the League of Conservation Voters, the Center for American Progress and former Vice President Al Gore's Alliance for Climate Protection."

So while we freeze during the coldest winter in years, Pravda reports that earth is entering a new Ice Age, and the economy needs all the help it can get, Obama and Ms. Browner are apparently at the ready to do whatever it takes to enact their radical agenda.
