ACORN's Foreclosure Free America

Never mind that gazillions of unqualified people have bought houses they could not afford, based upon made-up assets and income. Never mind that this was the match that lit the fire which became our current financial crisis. ACORN insists that these poor souls DESERVE to stay in their homes. Hey, home ownership without personal responsibily is one of the new "rights and entitlements" in this brave new Obama world.

Take a look at an email sent by ACORN to an anonymous contributor to my blog. And guess who pays the bill for all of this crap. You got it: YOU and I and OUR KIDS!

Make America a Foreclosure-Free Zone

Support Home Defenders and tell Congress that it's time for a national moratorium on foreclosures.

Dear Supporter,

Congress is finally waking up to the foreclosure crisis.

Last week, the House approved legislation to help some families renegotiate their mortgages and hold on to their homes. That's an important step, but it's just the beginning. While responsible homeowners wait for help to arrive, it's up to us to keep all families safe from foreclosure.

Over 700 ACORN members have committed to serve as Home Defenders to physically prevent families from being evicted. They're willing to risk arrest and be our boots on the ground to make America a Foreclosure-Free Zone.

Now, we need to back up their on-the-ground activism with thousands of messages to leaders in the House and Senate. Tell Congressional leaders to support a six-month moratorium on all foreclosures.

We've seen what the other side is willing to throw at us and know this fight won't be easy. For years, government has helped banks and businesses prosper, while refusing to help families hold on to their livelihoods. They've gotten away with it because families hit with foreclosure are typical Americans like you and me who on our own lack the political power to make a difference.

That's why it's so important that we amplify their voices with messages from people from all walks of life who refuse to give in to indifference.

You know that what happens to families anywhere happens to families everywhere. So, please send a message to Congressional leaders right now.

In solidarity and strength,

Bertha Lewis

Since 1970 ACORN has taken action and won victories on issues of concern to our members. Our priorities include: better housing for first time homebuyers and tenants, living wages for low-wage workers, more investment in our communities from banks and governments, and better public schools. ACORN is an acronym, and each letter should be capitalized. ACORN stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

That is going to get some media attention if they even try it one time. I think Swami Obami might not want them to go the "physical route" before he gets his brown shirts in order and trained. It would cause too much attention and might wake some people from their "American Idol Induced Trance".

As potential and actual foreclosures are evaluted by the banks and mortgage companies during the coming weeks/months, we need to understand the rules that determine "acceptable for mortgage support".
If the philosophy of enablement that started this mess in the first place is continued and fostered then we will sink further into recession/depression.
Let's remain vigilent and be sure to document the rules and the legislators that establish them. These rules will be the core to the speed of the return to prosperity or further and deeper recession.

Michelle Malkin had a "more of the story" on this ACORN/foreclosure:

And just think, this group will end up "helping" with the census as well.

What a scary thought. The consolidation of power in this administration is reminiscent of tyrants throughout history. Huge power grabs done with a velvet glove, under the premise of security or reviving the economy or boosting a country's morale. Why do so few people see what is happening?

Kathy, not only will they help with the Census, they are the people who will flock to the "volunteer" program which will quickly be built into the Internal Security Force Mr. Wonderful has already started tailoring through his shotgun legislation that is unending. He still has his judges to appoint and I believe he will pick people who will accelerate the release of some of those 300,000 who have converted to Islam while in federal prisons. In turn those people will become part and parcel of his Internal Security Force leadership cadre. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out where that will lead. He has so many willing, adoring subjects with nothing but time on their hands (due mostly because you and I are paying their rent, buying their food and providing their medical treatment while they live on uncle sam's plantation). They are used to the socialist setting because they have been relying on the government for so long. He already has his own army, he just has not called it that. YET!
