I think you need to learn what "pork barrel spending" is. It's not just "spending that I don't like." Medicaid is pork? Tax cuts? Unemployment benefits? The census?
Point taken, justin. The real title should be "Non- Stimulatory Tidbits in the Spendulus Plan". Or perhaps "No Bang for the Buck Spendulus Plan". End result is the same, whatever you choose to call it, my friend.
OMG what planet are these people living on. They past a bill they didn't even read. It is supposed to be an economic stimulus package. President Obama said "There are no earmarks in the stimulus package" Most of these items have been floating around for years. It looks like Congress completely dumped their wish list in this bill. I hope you don't mind I am going to copy paste your list and send it to my friends. Some of them actually think this bill is going to help. I will send them the link to your site.
Obama and the Democrats are brilliant! They "work ahead" through the end of 2008, settle quickly into office, and then throw all of the miscellaneous spending requests into one huge "stimulus" package. People on the street are still glassy-eyed from the "Yes we can" campaign to think that maybe it isn't in our best interest. Boom, there goes your children's country.
Remember, that list is where they "Say" it will go. As that money is doled out, there will be millions for which they will not be able to account. UNLESS, we demand an accounting and progress reports as it is being spent. They have written themselves a blank check and we are paying that bill, our children will be paying it, and their children. I, for one, am going to become their volunteer auditor, whether they like it or not. Join in the fun! You contact your representative in a month or two and demand an accounting. Then do it again and again.
